Story:

Set against the backdrop of Chandraprastha Port, Saindhav unfolds the story of Saiko (Venkatesh), a crane operator leading a peaceful life with his daughter, Gayathri. However, their world is shattered when Gayathri is diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), requiring a life-saving injection worth ₹17 crores. Saiko, re-entering the world of crime, faces off against Vikas Malik (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), a ruthless gangster, in a battle to protect his daughter.

Performances:

Venkatesh delivers a nuanced performance, portraying the role of a single parent with conviction. Nawazuddin Siddiqui makes an impactful Telugu debut, stealing the show with his portrayal of the antagonist, Vikas Malik. The supporting cast, including Shraddha Srinath, Ruhani Sharma, and others, contributes effectively to the film’s success.

Technicalities:

On the technical front, Saindhav presents a visually appealing experience with flawless production design and a large-scale presentation. The background score by Santosh Narayan, while decent, could have been more impactful. The film, despite its technical finesse, faces challenges in certain areas, requiring trims in certain portions.

Analysis:

Saindhav navigates through a stylish presentation but encounters challenges in maintaining a consistently engaging narrative. The second half, marked by action-packed sequences, suffers from a dragged pace and inefficient characterization. The film’s attempt to balance the emotional depth with the action genre falls short in certain aspects, impacting the overall narrative.

Verdict:

While Saindhav succeeds in delivering moments of father-daughter emotion and stylish action stunts, it falls short in providing a consistently gripping thriller. The film’s narrative complexity, coupled with a cluttered portrayal of characters, creates an imbalance in the overall viewing experience.

Rating: 3/5
